Zero positive Covid-19 cases at UK pilot business event

As reported in CMW, May 28, 2021, Public Health officials and scientists in Liverpool, UK have found the city’s recent pilot events did not cause any detectable spread of Covid-19 across the region.


Client confidence is rising but there is still a fear of commitment

Meetings Industry Association updates reopening guidance for sector

M&IT, May 17, 2021, outlines the “Recovery Roadmap” on reopening of the business meetings and events industry safety guidelines. The roadmap includes best practices and standards in the industry adopted alongside government protocols driven by science and medical advice. Is It time to rethink the DMC business model?

A new white paper from ADMEI lays out ways planners can strengthen their relationships with destination management partners. The full white paper is available here. Financial incentives from destinations around the world

The United Kingdom is the latest destination to offer incentives to attract future group business. Applications have opened for VisitBritain’s Domestic Support Fund, a new initiative to kickstart the recovery of the UK business events sector. The £100,000 Domestic Support Fund is available for not-for-profit organisations and charities hosting meetings, conferences and events in the UK from 21 June to 17 December 2021.
